*Bacteria was discovered by a scientist of Holland named as Antoni wan Leeuwenhack in 1683.
*Leeuwenhack is known as the father of Bacteriology.
*Ehrenberg gives name bacteria in1829.

        Phylum Protozoa (L.Proto-primitive , zoon- animals)  Diagnostic characters- 1) Microscopic 2)  Unicellular 3) Eukaryotic 4) Body divided into ectoplasm and endoplasm. 5) Terrestrial, aquatic, free living or parasitic. 6) Movement by cilia, flagella, pseudopodia etc. 7)  Nutrition performed by autotrophic or heterotrophic. 8)  protozoans are both harmful or beneficial. 9) All the biological activities are performed by different cell organelles. 10) Reproduction by asexual or sexual reproduction. Example- Amoeba, Paramecium, Euglena , Plasmodium etc.

कार्बोक्सिलिक अम्लों का नामकरण  (1) ऐलिफैटिक मोनोकार्बोक्सिलिक अम्लों का नामकरण - (a) सामान्य विधि - मोनो कार्बोक्सिलिक अम्लों के सामान्य नाम प्रकृति में उनकी प्राप्ति के स्रोत पर आधारित होते हैं जैसे HCOOH  को फार्मिक अम्ल कहा जाता है, क्योंकि यह सर्वप्रथम लाल चीटियों (लैटिन में फॉरमिका का अर्थ लाल चींटी होता है) से प्राप्त किया गया था| ऐसीटिक (CH3COOH)  को यह नाम इसलिए दिया गया क्योंकि यह सिरके (लैटिन में एसिटम का अर्थ सिरका होता है) से प्राप्त किया गया था| इसी प्रकार CH3CH2CH2COOH को ब्यूटाइरिक अम्ल नाम दिया गया क्योंकि इसकी उत्पत्ति मक्खन (लैटिन में ब्यूटाइरम का अर्थ मक्खन होता है) से हुई थी|            सामान्य विधि में श्रृंखला में उपस्थित प्रतिस्थापनों का स्थान ग्रीक अक्षर अल्फा, बीटा, गामा, डेल्टा आदि के द्वारा प्रदर्शित किया जाता है| कार्बोक्सिलिक समूह से अगले कार्बन परमाणु को अल्फा तथा इसके बाद के कार्बन परमाणु को बीटा,गामा, डेल्टा आदि नाम निम्न प्रकार दिए जाते हैं- (b) I.
